Kingsmead medical center

Clinic Policies

Walk in clinic open from 10.00am to 6pm Monday- Friday and on Saturdays from 9am-2pm. Sunday Off

We kindly request your attention to the following essential policies and procedures

School & Work Documents

Please make sure to submit any forms or documents for the doctor at least 72 hours before the required deadline. Some forms may take longer to process, so you can confirm the expected time with reception. It is recommended to book an appointment when dropping off or collecting documents. Please note that certain services or forms may involve a fee as they may not be covered by OHIP.

Prescriptions

For prescription refills, please book an appointment (phone or in-person) to consult with the doctor. Requests sent directly to the pharmacy without an appointment may include an administrative fee. For urgent medication needs, contact the clinic and allow up to 3 business days for processing. You may also check with reception for the latest policies regarding certain prescriptions.

Appointment Times

While we aim to stay on schedule, delays may occasionally occur due to unforeseen circumstances. To help us manage appointments efficiently, please address one main concern per visit, as standard appointments are limited in time. We kindly ask patients to arrive on time, as late arrivals may require rescheduling. Please inform the front desk of your appointment reason in advance. A fee may apply for missed or late appointments.

Lateness and no shows

We understand that schedules can change, so if you’re unable to attend your appointment, please inform the clinic at least 24 hours in advance. Patients arriving more than 10 minutes late may need to wait for the next available slot. Missed appointments or late cancellations may result in a fee. For any questions or concerns, please contact the reception team.

Annual Physicals/Wellness Checks

Our approach to annual physicals has evolved. The College of Family Physicians now recommends wellness checks at least once a year, focusing on health screenings (e.g., PAPS, Mammogram, and colon cancer screenings) and vaccinations. You can book an appointment at any time to discuss current health concerns. Please refer to the Choosing Wisely article on annual physicals for additional information.

Doctors’ Note

Please see a doctor as soon as possible on the first day of your illness especially if you anticipate that a sick note will be required by your employer. We will NOT provide a sick note to cover any days of illness that cannot be evidenced.
